How To: Guide to Making the Ultimate Acai Bowl

Acai bowls are a delicious, easy and super healthy way to kick start your morning and start your day with enough energy to fuel your body.  Native to the rainforests of South America, the Acai berry has been proven to hold considerable levels of antioxidants and other nutrients and is now considered one of the top super foods around the world commonly used in smoothies or smoothie bowls.

With high levels of antioxidants, high fibre, healthy fats and low sugar content, Acai makes the perfect match for any active and healthy lifestyle. Not only is Acai great for our bodies it is also DELICIOUS and today we want to share with you some steps to creating the ultimate Acai bowl for a nourishing breakfast or a healthy lunch option!

Here is what you will need:

FOR THE BLEND

1 x Packet of Frozen Acai or 4 x tbs Acai Powder

1 Cup of Frozen Blueberries

1 Frozen Banana

1 Cup of  Strawberries

1 Cup of Almond Milk or Coconut Water

Optional:

1 tsp Chai Seeds

1 tsp Maca Powder

1 tsp Honey

TOPPINGS (optional)

Blueberries

Almonds

Organic Peanut Butter

Chia Seeds

Granola or Rolled Oats

Mango

Kiwi Fruit

Coconut Flakes

Cacao Nibs

METHOD

1. Add  frozen Acai or Acai powder, frozen banana, strawberries, frozen blueberries and half a cup of almond milk or coconut water to a blender and start blending

2. Add the other half cup of almond milk or coconut water to your mix and continue blending. Your Acai blend should be thicker than a traditional smoothie, add liquid as needed to help ingredients blend smoothly.

3. Once blended to a smooth consistency spoon into large bowl and add toppings of your choice.
